We Support Union Member Candidates

WHEREAS: There are a record number of union members, union retirees, and union family members running for office in 2026; and 

WHEREAS: It takes hard work, courage, and sacrifice for working people to run for public office; and 

WHEREAS: Including the experience and perspective of workers in our legislative process is critical to our democracy; and therefore be it

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO will encourage our affiliate unions, in the spirit of solidarity, to support our union-endorsed union member candidates with their time, resources, and votes; and be it further 

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO will work hard between now and November 3rd to educate union households about our labor-endorsed union member candidates; and be it further 

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO commends all union workers, retirees, and family members who have taken the bold step to run for office.
