Support Vote-By-Mail
WHEREAS: The United States Postal Service has a constitutional requirement to provide service to every address in the country, including overseas military bases; and
WHEREAS: Vote-By-Mail allows registered voters to cast their ballots without needing to be present at a polling center, which benefits voters who are disabled, elderly, traveling, or in military service; and
WHEREAS: The United States Postal Service was created in 1971 as an entity independent of the White House; and
WHEREAS: Executive Order 14399 Sec. 3 will limit who may vote by mail to provided participation lists; and
WHEREAS: This Executive Order is an attack on free and fair elections; be it
RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO will stand in solidarity with the APWU and NALC in their fight to keep Vote-By-Mail available to all Americans; and be it further
RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO will draft and submit a letter to North Dakota Congress Members to urge them to support Vote-By-Mail.
