Resolution 3

We Support United Steelworker Local 560’s Fight to Keep Good Union Jobs in Gwinner, North Dakota

WHEREAS: Bobcat has been producing world-class skid-steer loaders in Gwinner, ND for over 60 years; and 

WHEREAS: The United Steelworkers Local 560 represents the workers at the Gwinner, ND Bobcat factory producing skid-steer loaders; and 

WHEREAS: Bobcat has recently built a production facility in Monterrey, Mexico to produce skid-steer loaders; and 

WHEREAS: Bobcat has previously told the public and the union that no jobs will be be lost by moving a production line of skid-steer loaders from Gwinner, ND to Monterrey, Mexico; and 

WHEREAS: Bobcat and the United Steelworkers Local 560 are currently in effects bargaining over the opening of the new plant in Monterrey, Mexico; and 

WHEREAS: Bobcat will not agree to commit in writing that no jobs will be lost in Gwinner, ND; and therefore be it  

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO stands in solidarity with USW Local 560 in their fight to keep good union jobs in North Dakota; and be it further 

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO will draft and submit a letter to Bobcat management urging the company to honor their word and keep good union jobs in North Dakota producing American-made Bobcat skid-steer loaders; and be it finally

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO will draft and submit a letter to our North Dakota congressional delegation, Governor, and Legislative leaders to also urge the company to honor their word and keep good union jobs in North Dakota producing American-made Bobcat skid-steer loaders.
