Resolution 1

We Congratulate and Thank Fargo Mayor Josh Boschee

WHEREAS: Josh Boschee has been a member of every union he’s had the opportunity to join, including North Dakota United and the Teamsters; and 

WHEREAS: Josh Boschee has an impeccable 100% labor voting record while serving first in the North Dakota House from 2013 to 2024 and then in the Senate from 2024 to 2026; and

WHEREAS: Josh Boschee has shown up for our unions countless times; at labor events, rallies, meetings, and conventions; and 

WHEREAS: Josh Boschee has earned the endorsement from the North Dakota AFL-CIO in every one of his campaigns for the legislature, and more recently earned the endorsement for Fargo Mayor from the Northern Plains United Labor Council, AFL-CIO; and

WHEREAS: On June 9th, 2026, after a hard-fought campaign, Josh Boschee won 47% of the vote in a five-way contest to become the next mayor of Fargo, North Dakota; and 

WHEREAS: Herschel Irving Lashkowitz, Fargo Mayor from 1954 until 1974, was known as a great friend of labor; and therefore be it

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO, our labor councils, and affiliate unions express our deepest appreciate for Josh Boschee’s service and commitment to the betterment of working families in North Dakota; and be it further

RESOLVED: The North Dakota AFL-CIO is proud to call Mayor Boschee a great friend of labor.
